Overcoming Decision Overload: Using Principles to Make Better Decisions Faster
My Decision Stack framework helps ensure alignment from top to bottom, bottom to top, and the piece of the stack that is most often missing in organisations is a clear set of product principles. Good principles are critical to cutting down the decision making overload we product people so often get burdened with - helping us make better decisions, faster.

Product Tetris
Product management is like playing a game of Tetris: there are constraints in everything you do. Some pieces are harder to work with than others, but the ultimate goal is to earn points while you avoid letting things pile up. The more you play, the more you develop and understand successful strategies to make both immediate decisions and long-term plans.

Surveillance Art, Dying Phones and Fake Likes
Dries will talk about his recent and upcoming works, their process and showcase live work. This year the Belgium artist launched his project The Flemish Scrollers. The software uses AI & face recognition and the live stream of the Belgian Parlement to detect if politicians are on there phone. If a politician is to long on there phone they got tweeted out. During the talk Dries will live showcase ‘Quick Fix’ by giving someone in the audience thousands of Instagram likes in a few seconds. This year Dries made an interactive installation 'The Lookout' where you can control physically CCTV with a Playstation controller. Incomplete by Design
How much of our time do we waste presenting things at each other rather than creating things with each other? What if we could make our product documentation better by spending less time on it? In this talk, product leader and author of Product Management in Practice Matt LeMay puts forth a simple but powerful suggestion: if you want your documentation to be effective, leave it unfinished, unimpressive, and "incomplete by design." As with most simple but powerful suggestions, this is easier said than done--especially for product managers who see the quality of their documentation as an expression of their personal worth. This talk will provide specific actionable advice for putting the idea of "incomplete by design" into practice by establishing default timeboxes, working in shared documents, and (gasp!) turning off comments.
